The Equestrian community in Europe is always on the cutting edge of innovation and design, and their stirrup leathers are no exception. Millbrook Equestrian tapped into this little known market on a recent horse shopping trip to Europe. They brought back these new stirrup leathers to Colorado to introduce to our equine locality.
Traditionally stirrup leathers have always been one uniform width throughout and this is really the only way to make stirrup leathers, right? Wrong. The European design that Millbrook offers is the work of French Olympic rider Michel Robert. It is a much wider stirrup leather along the calf in order to provide more strength and stability for a rider's leg.
As founder, Alexia Honneger states of the design, "We believe that a great ride starts with a great leg. When a rider has a stable leg their confidence tends to rise. Our wider design offers more leg stability, greater comfort, and eliminates twisting to result in an overall smoother ride."
The wider stirrup leather design is certainly catching on. Millbrook is able to boast such professional clients as Todd Minikus, Mandy Porter, Natascha Gates, Jen Duffy, Erin Bounds, and many more!
Millbrook leathers come in different sizes based on your height and are offered in dark brown or black. Each pair is $149 plus $10 in shipping. To order your pair of Millbrook stirrup leathers visit their website today!
